成長市場での取り組みKDDI は、日本国内で培った携帯電話やインターネットなどの事業運営・ノウハウをもとに、海外の成長市場への取り組みを積極的に進めています。2014年には、住友商事、ミャンマー国営郵便・電気通信事業体（MPT*1）との共同事業により、ミャンマー通信事業に参入しました。1995年には、モンゴルの携帯電話事業者であるMobicom Corporation LLC に出資し、同社は、現在も国内シェアNo.1事業者*2としてサービスを提供しています。さらに、2010年には、年々増加し続けるアメリカの移民の方々向けに、携帯電話事業を展開するLocus Telecommunications, LLC およびTotalCall International, LLC に出資を行い、今では、多くのお客さまにご利用いただいています。KDDIは、今後も世界経済の発展に貢献すべく、新たな成長市場への参入を目指していきます。*1 Myanma Posts & Telecommunications*2 2014年12月現在Initiatives in Growth MarketsBased on the mobile phone and Internet business managementexpertise, KDDI is moving aggressively to take advantage of opportunitiesin growing overseas markets. In 2014, we embarked on thetelecommunications business in Myanmar in collaboration withSumitomo Corporation and Myanma Posts and Telecommunications(MPT). In 1995, we invested in Mobicom Corporation LLC, aMongolian mobile phone operator, which continues to serve as thecountry’s leading operator*.
